Hull 4 Heroes is the result of an amazing collection of likeminded, passionate and committed individuals. Everyone has their particular skills, knowledge and experience and everyone has the same goal of supporting our veterans in creating a life outside of the armed forces.

The man behind the idea. Paul served in the royal artillery in the early 1980’s. Having founded the charity he has built a team of tireless individuals to create the veterans support network he envisaged. His background in the military and construction are perfectly suited to this role.
Trevor Fishburn

Trustee & Project Manager

A later addition to the team, Trevor served a short term in the Royal Navy before embarking on a career in Property. With over 30 years experience in this discipline he has taken on the task of Project Managing the proposed Veterans Village.
Jim Fishburn

Jim  joined the RN in 1984 aged 16 and left over 23 years later in 2007 when he turned 40. During this time, he served on-board HMS Euryalus, HMS London, HMS Cardiff and HMS Dumbarton Castle.
Debbie Hammond

Debbie is a veteran and mum to a veteran herself. She is director and owner of Hammond Homes Ltd. She is also the charities Buildforce UK ambassador and Mentor which helps ex-forces personnel gain employment within the construction industry.

Samantha Walton

Sam is treasurer and a trustee of Hull 4 Heroes. Having being part of the team since December 2015.Sam is a qualified ACCA accountant with several years experience working for a prominent local employer. She has a great respect for our armed forces.

Claire Edwards

Veteran Liaison Officer

Claire edwards served for 20 years in the Army with the Royal signals. Since retiring she has continued with her interests of swimming, cycling and archery.
Claire works on the committee dealing with applications for  assistance.

Simon Banks-Cooper

Simon is a businessman with a variety of commercial interests. Prior to qualifying as an accountant he served as a Commissioned Officer in the Infantry. Simon is a hugely important part of Hull 4 Heroes and is passionate about our ex-forces personnel.
Dan Allinson

Dan is an ambassador of Hull 4 Heroes and has been a strong promoter of the charity from the early days. Dan is an ex-forces veteran himself and he tirelessly supports Hull 4 Heroes in both raising awareness and fundraising activities.
Paul 'Tug' Hartley

Ambassador

Tug is a Hull 4 Heroes ambassador. He was awarded the George Medal (GM) for actions in Afghanistan whilst serving with 3 Para on Op Herrick 4 in 2006. The story of Tug and his colleges has been made into a feature film ‘Kajaki the true story’.

Shaun gives direction on all things creative having worked in the graphic design industry for over ten years. Shaun is at the centre of visuals and branding to website development and motion graphics.

Clare is a commitee member of Hull 4 Heroes and is regularly seen at fundraising events supporting the charity and raising funds.

Callum is a committee member at Hull 4 Heroes. He first became a member of Hull 4 Heroes in September 2016 having worked on projects including the DIY SOS Manchester development.
Chris Ashton

Chris Ashton

Patron

Chris Ashton is widely regarded as one of the luckiest men alive in Hull today. Chris was shot in the face with a rifle grenade whist serving in Iraq in 2006. Since leaving the Army Chris has become a beacon of survival and an inspiration for many veterans around the world.

Martin Chadburn

After leaving school in 1989 Martin joined the 1st battalion the Duke of Wellington regiment where he served for 9 years, touring Bosnia, Northern Ireland and Germany. From 2016, he volunteered for Hull 4 Heroes and is now a full Committee Member.

Garden Design Consultant

Dave has been a member of Hull 4 Heroes from day one and he and Paul worked together on the Manchester DIY SOS veterans build. Dave is the garden designer and landscaper in the team and he has won several RHS awards for garden design.
Ashley Robinson

Ambassador

A founder member of the charity from its concept. Ashley and his family became massive advocates for Hull 4 Heroes before emigrating to Australia in 2016. Still close go his heart, Ashley still checks in on the progress of Hull 4 Heroes, visiting when making the trip back from Australia.
